Poetry & Prose Supper Club
A place to gather, eat, and find your own writer’s voice.
Calling gastronome writers! Love home-cooked food and poetic words?
You are invited to a dedicated place to gather, eat, and find your own writer’s voice.
If you have:
Long-held words awaiting expression...
A memoir or novel you’ve been meaning to start...
Half-finished poems tucked into the corners of your notebook...
Or a calling to write just for you - your words, your way...
AND you’re a foodie who loves to write on a full stomach and good conversation…
Join us at Leygreen Farmhouse, Beaulieu in the New Forest on the third Wednesday of every month at 6pm for 3 hours of food and words:
Love good food and even better conversation? And have a long-held words awaiting expression simmering inside you?
Whether you have:
A memoir or novel you’ve been meaning to start...
Half-finished poems tucked into the corners of your notebook...
Or a calling to write just for you - your words, your way...

Sit with us at Rowena’s table to share a beautiful meal and inspiring conversation. Delicious home-cooked food, made fresh in the farmhouse kitchen, along with conversation about our writing goals, blocks, style, and of course, dreams for our own words-on-paper. Inspiration comes from sharing as well as reflection.
After dinner we settle in the lounge to listen to works themed for the month, go journeying, play with words and write what comes from our inner-most worlds. It is a space crafted by Yolanda to nourish the development of your own writing voice - hear it through and above the noise of all the others in the world.
We break to enjoy the lovely desserts on offer, and then go back for more words and wisdom.
We finish the evening with a relaxing tea to settle our minds before bed.
Rowena and I supply soft drinks, non-alcoholic sparkling beverages and teas. If you’d like to have wine or beer with your meal feel free to bring it with you.
We’ll gather in the garden when the sun’s out and the air is soft, or around the table in the dining room with its picture windows and views of nature.
This is a space to notice, to explore, and to belong in the uniqueness of our stories.
What to expect:
A warm, welcoming 2-course mean, home-cooked by Rowena.
Join us at 6pm for a welcome drink of alcohol-free fizz to start the evening. Depending on weather, we will enjoy the first course of our supper at 6:30 in either the dining room or the garden. If the sun shines, we may well eat outside, so bring blanket and socks to relax in!
June’s early summer menu will be a fresh and filling: Salmon, green vegetables and minted new potatoes, followed by a trio of mini desserts. It is yet to be decided, but please do get in touch if you require the vegetarian / vegan option, or if you have any other dietary needs.
We supply all your soft drinks, including tea and coffee, but feel free to bring your favourite tipple with you to enjoy.
Conversation about writing, words and what they mean to us - the call to our own personal creativity & expression. Dinner-party word-games to let loose our creative thoughts.
Readings, reflection, guided journeys and prompts curated by Yolanda. These will be themed and revealed on the evening. Spontaneity and small adventures are the key words!
No critique or comparison — just community & curiosity.
Bring your appetite, your pen, and your presence.
Let’s eat. Let’s talk. Let’s write.
