Self-Expression: Learn How to Say What You Need to Say…
Word Blocks. Why do they happen? Let me tell you...
(Part Two is about the magical invisible librarians in your head - but that's tomorrow!).
We live in a world bursting at the seams with memes, quotes and sayings, and with so much being expressed freely by others all around us , coming at us day and night. Have you noticed?
What about you - do you find it easy to say what you mean / need / think / want? Or do you find yourself getting quieter and quieter because the words don't come out right??
Maybe you'd expect to know how to explain what you're thinking better, describe what you mean more clearly, and should find it easier to say those really important things that you want to say out loud.
But maybe you've wondered why this just isn't true for you?
Or maybe you want to write creatively, for getting your memories down on paper, or for writing a book to help others. After all, you're read so many books, love the way stories make you feel and you have something to share too?
But you're stuck, blocked by an inability to get the words out - especially those first few all-important paragraphs?
And this is why...
We're inundated with words - information, opinions, feelings and words are just everywhere. There's rarely any peace from others' voices, your family, friends, colleagues and the TV.
So when you try to say what you want to say, you can't find the right words that make it make sense.
Not just consciously, but also subconsciously. Your mind is inundated with the options, and you're struggling to find the words that are yours, not someone else's. SO the words get stuck, and you feel yourself slowly giving up, wondering if there's something wrong with you...
That's where Wild Words Writing Club - Creative Expression, Personal Development & Wellness - Milford on Sea comes in.
As a coach & therapist working with people on self-awareness, communication, relationships and identity, learning to express ourselves in writing opens up a whole new world in learning to let these words out.
It teaches us to stop all the chatter that gets in the way, find our own feelings, beliefs and thoughts and get them straight - and that's Part Two tomorrow - those invisible librarians in your head that know what to do and really help you out.
Wild Words isn't about perfect grammar or spelling, it's not about publishing. We'd love to hear about what you wrote, and why, but it's not the aim of the workshops.
Wild Words is about how you make the world's million voices quiet so that you can hear your own.
It's about tapping back into your intuition to let yourself reconnect with what you know is true for you.
It's about stopping your thoughts running around your head on autopilot and driving you slightly crazy, it's collecting your thoughts together so you can work out what it is your feel, think, believe and find a way to say it out loud - whether that's to your spouse, child, friend, boss or yourself .
It's getting them organised into some sort of order so they make sense to you and so you can explain them to others.
Honestly, it's not heavy or hard - we do lots of different exercises and activities that get your wordjuices flowing - it's lots of fun, inspiring, interesting, and you learn a lot about yourself.
You'll be amazed at what you write and where inspiration comes from, and looks like. And most of all, you'll be surprised by how quickly the words flow.
